About PACT

PACT (Parents and Children Together) is a nonprofit organization, which endeavors to help parents, teachers, and teacher’s assistants teach children to MASTER the education basics needed to achieve academic excellence in school. The PACT program is an enrichment program as well as a program for overcoming learning difficulties and disabilities. And when adults learn the materials through teaching their children and students they learn that they are learning as well!

Hellen Codling is an education specialist, and ESL teacher. She has taught in Toronto, Ontario, Nova Scotia (Whycocomagh Native Reserve), New Brunswick (Red Bank Native Reserve), and Richmond, British Columbia (Learning Center Developer and Director in Richmond Christian School). She is the Founder and Director of PACT (Parents and Children Together).

While now living in Saskatchewan, Canada, Hellen continues developing materials and helping parents and children master the basics needed for academic achievement with 100% Mastery.




Deborah James is the Assistant Director of PACT. She is the author and illustrator of the primary “Learning Sentence Writing” Volume 1 and 2 and illustrator of the “Grandma and Grandpa Stories” series in development. Until the birth of her son in 2004 Deborah was the Head Tutor at the Charis Learning Centre in Richmond and worked with ESL, learning disabled, and enrichment students throughout Greater Vancouver. She now lives in Quesnel B.C.

Mastery Max is Deborah’s cartoon drawing for the PACT website www.parentsandchildrentogether.ca.

Mastery Max will encourage students to achieve 100% Mastery in the reading quizzes they do on the website. He will help keep track of their scores when they complete qizzes from the ever-growing database of questions on books in the database. Watch for this program!
